Regional and Shared Interest Groups

Members of the Society are dedicated to consulting psychology across many areas. To help you find your niche in the division, we have established Shared Interest Groups to help you find those that work in your professional area and Regional Groups to help you connect locally with others in your area. The following groups are currently established. To inquire about creating an additional group, contact the Domain Leader for Community.

Shared Interest Groups

National Security SIG
This group, intended for psychologists who work in National Security Setting, is open to any SCP member or affiliate who works in a National Security Setting or who has an interest in working in such a setting. For more information, contact S may join this SIG. This SIG offers a special discussion listserv, shared programming at the annual Midwinter Conference, and networking opportunities specifically geared toward SIG members. To join the SIG, contact Chad Rummel.

Disaster Response SIG
This group of members are interested in providing services to those organizations and individuals affected by national disasters. We help leaders and their organizations to rebuild, renew and refocus after disasters. Once the safety, security and basic needs of an organization are restored (Red Cross, FEMA, etc.), our work begins. To join the SIG, contact John Fennig.

Regional Groups

Northern and Southern California Regional Groups

SCP partnered with the I-O and Consulting Division of the California Psychological Association to hold two events earlier this year. We are planning L.A. and Bay area events for this fall that will include a speaker, discussion and social time. We would like to invite SCP members and others interested in consulting to attend. We are also working closely with APA's Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award committee and hope to involve California SCP members who are interested to speak to professional groups about PHW, to nominate potential applicants for the award and to make site visits to organizations that apply. For more information, contact Judy Blanton.

Washington, D.C., Metro Area
The Washington, D.C. Metro Area SIG meets routinely for information sharing and networking. In addition, members of the group often meet for networking at SCP and APA events. For more information on this group, contact Corey Baechel.
