2011 Recipient: Imad Zaheer
The recipient of the 2011-2012 Diversity Scholarship for an advanced student is Imad Zaheer. Mr. Zaheer will be a 3rd year doctoral student at Lehigh University. Since beginning his doctoral studies in 2009, Mr. Zaheer has accumulated a great deal of research and leadership experience.
He has worked as a graduate assistant at the Center for Adolescent Research In Schools and the Center for Promoting Research to Practice, focusing on direct services and training for school mental health staff as well as data analyses.
Mr. Zaheer founded the School Psychology Graduate Club at Lehigh University to promote professional development and outreach between his program and the local community.
Recently, Mr. Zaheer was a teaching assistant for an online course, with students from around the world. His professional interests include raising awareness among South Asian communities regarding behavioral and psychological disorders, in hopes of helping provide services to children in these communities.
