Doctoral Dissertation Award in the Psychology of Aging
APA Division 20 invites applications for the Division 20 Doctoral Dissertation Award.
Annual deadline: March 15
The recipient will be recognized at the annual meeting of the Division of Adult Development and Aging. Candidates are welcome from any area of the psychology of aging and adult development. The recipient will be presented with a plaque and a cash award at the Division 20 Business Meeting during the annual APA convention in the year the award is received.
Nominees must be current members or affiliates of Division 20. Candidates must have completed or expect to complete their doctoral dissertation annually between June 1 - March 15.
How to Apply
Nomination materials should be sent in one email to the co-chair of the Awards Committee, with "D20 Dissertation Award nomination" noted as the subject of the email by March 15 annually. The nomination materials will include the following:
A letter of support from dissertation supervisor;
A current CV of the nominee;
A personal statement about merit and potential impact of the dissertation (maximum of three double-spaced pages with 12pt font);
An abstract of the dissertation (maximum of 10 double-spaced pages with 12pt font).
Nominations will be reviewed by a committee comprised of the executive committee and division members.
