Student & Postdoctoral Travel Awards Program for Completed Research
The award competition is open to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as individuals in postdoctoral positions. Submissions at these three different levels will be judged separately. While the faculty sponsor may be a collaborator, it is expected that the student or postdoc is the senior author of the paper. Only one submission per student will be reviewed each year.
Travel awards of $500 are planned at each of the following levels: undergraduate, graduate (master’s and/or doctoral), and postdoctoral. These awards are intended to defray the costs of recipients for attending the annual convention of the American Psychological Association. Awardees will be recognized at the Div. 20 Business Meeting during the convention.
Submissions should include:
A copy of the submitted APA proposal.
Award application coversheet (DOC, 36KB).
Biographical sketch (not to exceed one page), that includes in list format (a) schools attended with degrees attained, (b) relevant professional positions, (c) honors, (d) society memberships (e) publications and/or paper presentations, (f) relevant coursework, and (g) any other relevant information you would like to include.
Short supporting statement by the faculty sponsor verifying the nature of and the relative contribution to the research by the student submitting the proposal. This statement should be short, not to exceed one paragraph, and emailed directly from the adviser.
Research proposals and supporting materials should be sent in one email to the co-chair of the Awards Committee, with "D20 Student Research Travel Award Nomination" noted as the subject of the email.
Submissions will be reviewed by qualified reviewers from Div. 20.
