The following awards are sponsored by Div. 30:

Distinguished Awards

  • Early Career Contribution Award
    This award recognizes excellent young psychologists who have their PhD for ten years or less. The recipient could be cited for applied or scientific work.
  • E.R. Hilgard Best Graduate-Level Academic Thesis Award
    This award is bestowed upon the author of a recent (i.e., completed within the last two years) outstanding and important dissertation.
  • Distinguished Contributions to Professional Hypnosis
    This award recognizes outstanding contributions to the field of clinical hypnosis or distinguished service to the division. Training, education, theoretical innovations, clinical research and clinical scholarship, as well as leadership positions held within the division, should be considered in the nominations for this award.
  • Distinguished Contributions to Scientific Hypnosis
    This is the most important award for scientific merit that the division can bestow. Nominees should have a sustained record of significant and impactful scientific contributions to the field. It is given to luminaries in our field.

Convention Paper Awards

  • Best Applied Paper Award
    This award is for the best applied or clinical paper on hypnosis (or related phenomena) presented at the convention meeting.
  • Best Poster Award
    This award is for the best poster presented at the convention.
  • Best Research Paper Award
    This award is for the best research paper on hypnosis (or related phenomena) presented at the convention meeting.
  • Best Theoretical Paper Award
    This award is for the best theoretical paper on hypnosis (or related phenomena) presented at the convention meeting.
  • Nicholas Spanos Award for Best Student Paper
    This award is for the best graduate or undergraduate student-authored paper on hypnosis (or related phenomena) presented at the convention meeting.
