Div. 37 welcomes new ECP members

Increase in new early career members and review of early career awards.

By Paula Fite, PhD

Dear Div. 37 early career professionals,

I hope that the summer is off to a great start for each of you. We have had several new early career psychologist (ECP) members recently join Div. 37 – Welcome! We are excited and encouraged by the increase in new early career members, and we hope that you will share information regarding the division to colleagues who also may be interested in joining. We will continue efforts to recruit new members in the fall by sending out letters to training and internship directors.

Another exciting announcement is that the awards committee is now reviewing our first round of early career awards (see the Div. 37 awards Web page for more information). We had some excellent applicants. Please keep these awards in mind for next year, as we would love to see even more applications in the coming years. Announcements regarding winners will soon follow, and winners will be acknowledged during the business meeting at the convention.

Finally, the division is working hard to ensure quality programming at the convention. We hope that you enjoy the convention and can join everyone during the division's business meeting.

If you have any suggestions for how to better serve our ECP members, please let me know. Happy summer!
