Continuing Education
The Division 39 Continuing Education Program began in effort to enable the Division's sections, committees, and local chapters to design and offer continuing education programs to their members and local communities. Division 39 has been approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists, and its constituent sections, committees and local chapters are able to offer educational programs under the "umbrella" of the Division's approval.
In order to maintain adherence with the standards and guidelines of the American Psychological Association, the chair of the CE committee maintains regular contact with each section, committee, and local chapter about continuing education activities; each of the local organizations, in turn, has a continuing education coordinator who works closely with the CE committee chair to monitor programming standards and policies and to complete all required documentation. Together, these efforts allow psychologists across the nation convenient access to quality programming, while ensuring that the American Psychological Association will continue to approve Division 39 as a sponsor of continuing education.
