Leadership
The Board of Directors (BoD) is the governing body for the Division and is elected by the membership. The BoD meets three times a year to debate and discuss the activities of the Division. The Executive Committee is charged to handle the affairs of the Division between meetings and consists of the five officers (President, President-Elect, Past President, Treasurer and Secretary) and Division Representative to APA Council. In addition to the Executive Committee, the BoD is made up of nine At-Large Members and Representatives of Sections of the Division.
Many of the functions of the Division are carried out through its varied committees. For the most part committee chairs and members are appointed for fixed terms by the current president. The exception to this is the chair of the Publications Committee, who is elected by the Division Board. The Division Board also elects editors, currently including the editors of Psychoanalytic Psychology, DIVISION/Review and InSight, as well as the Internet Editor.
