We need your help
We are having a spectacular meeting of the Division of Psychoanalysis (39) in New York in April (13-17). Division 39 has made it a priority to increase graduate student membership and attendance at Division 39 conferences. Graduate students have limited incomes, and travel expenses to attend conferences are often expensive. One of the largest expenses of traveling is lodging, and this cost is a major impediment to graduate students being able to attend a conference in New York if they are coming from the West Coast and elsewhere. Please help us alleviate this problem by offering a couch or guest bedroom to graduate students traveling from out of state to attend the Division 39 Spring Meeting this year. You will receive $100 for the weekend (up to 3 nights) from each guest to offset any expenses you may incur, and this is a wonderful opportunity to reach out to graduate students who might not be able to attend otherwise.
If you are willing to open a space in your house to graduate students traveling from outside New York, please send an email containing the following information:
number of beds/couches available, and
whether you have pets for those who are allergic
If you prefer to host only women, or only men, please specify. Also, let us know if couples/partners are okay. You will be matched with a graduate student up to the number you wish to specify and they will contact you directly to set up arrangements. Thank you for your warmth and hospitality!
Sincerely, the Division 39 Graduate Student Committee: Jonathan H.
