Division 39 Task Force on the APA Committee on International Relations in Psychology

A new task force has been assigned the mission of creating an internal network of members that have worked in international areas like refugee populations studies

We want to hear from you!

Our Task Force wishes to promote Division 39 internationally, to begin a program of cross cultural exchanges, to seek out new international affiliates, and to study issues relevant to psychodynamic psychology in the global environment.

We currently aim to bring together a network of division members that have worked in international arenas including treatment of refugee populations here and abroad, those who have worked with populations suffering from war-related trauma, or worked in immediate crisis and recovery situations.

We hope that by building our own internal network of members who have committed to important causes while lending their psychodynamic backgrounds, we may bridge the foundations of psychodynamic psychology to important current global issues at the UN level and abroad.

We will likely use this network as references for the APA Committee on International Relations in Psychology (CIRP), which is currently seeking members from each division to lend their expertise and consultative efforts to global advocacy and intervention projects.

We would like you to send us your name and a brief synopsis of work you have done in these areas. We are eager to add you to our network. Please email Marilyn Jacobs with your information and any questions you may have.
