The Ontario Society for Contemporary Psychoanalysis Annual Report
September 1, 2010 - August 31, 2011
There is a high degree of collaboration between our Chapter and Institute. To the benefit of all, their activities overlap to a high degree. The past year has been highly productive and rewarding. The following summary may be of interest to other chapters.
Three stimulating weekend events were held. On October 2, 2010, Dr. Philip Bromberg commenced the year's Visiting Scholar Series by delivering our Annual Stephen Mitchell Memorial Lecture with a talk entitled: Naked on the Royal Road: Dissociation and the Paradox of Privacy.In the afternoon, expanding the conversation with Dr. Bromberg, Dr. Hazel Ipp served as interlocutor. On January 15, 2011, Dr. Joyce Slochower presented on Idealization and its Therapeutic Underbelly: An Inquiry into the Dynamics Shaping Therapeutic Success, Failure and Mystery. On April 30, 2011, Dr. Samuel Gerson led our year-end workshop on Psychoanalysis and the Struggle for Vitality. To read the rest of this article, please click here.
