The new InSight editor introduces herself and details reasons the newsletter is useful to division members

By Kristi Pikiewicz

Welcome to the June issue of InSight. I am humbled to begin my experience as the new editor of this newsletter. Pulling together the pieces needed to make this newsletter would have been even more daunting were it not for the gracious support of Division members, especially including Tamara, who has been invaluable to work with as she ends her tenure as editor. The publications committee and Bill MacGillivray have helped me both with the small details of the job and in gaining at least a preliminary understanding the big picture. I look forward to learning more in the months to come!

My impression is that the experience of support with this newsletter is a constant of Division 39 as a whole. For example, at the Spring Meeting in Santa Fe, I heard about a mentoring program for members to receive publishing support (contact Dana Castellano for more information); there are new opportunities to get published within Division 39, for example our new blog at Psychology Today, Meaningful You, contact me for more information; when I got home I had a call for papers for the next Spring Meeting in Boston (go to the division 39 web site for more details); and in this newsletter there is information about the Steven Mitchell award.

I am excited to be part of an organization that provides so many opportunities for interaction, information, and collaboration. Come, join me and the rest of Division 39 in taking advantage of these opportunities.
