Welcome from our President
Welcome to the website of APA Div. 41, the American Psychology-Law Society (AP-LS). AP-LS works to advance the contributions of psychology to the understanding of law and legal institutions through basic and applied research; promotes the education of psychologists in matters of law and the education of legal personnel in matters of psychology, including the appropriate use of psychologists in the legal system; and informs the psychological and legal communities and the general public of current research, educational and service activities in the field of psychology and law.
AP-LS has an active executive committee and a variety of committees focusing on issues related to the profession. For more information about these leaders and what the committees do, please see the Leadership tab. AP-LS is also fortunate to have an active grants program that focuses on funding the work of students, early career professionals, underrepresented groups, and innovative research. Check out the page under the Awards tab for more information.
Our dynamic student committee is a perfect place for students interested in law-psychology to get involved and start making AP-LS your academic home. See the “Especially for Students” link to the left for more information about that committee and the good work they are doing.
One highlight of AP-LS is our annual conference held each March. More information about our conference is under the Conference tab.
