Dismantling Privilege and Oppression in LGBTQ Communities

Speakers: Theodore R. Burns, PhD, and Konjit V. Page, PhD

This continuing education workshop will enhance psychologists' awareness, critical thinking and knowledge of clinical considerations when working with LGBTQ people of color. This workshop will combine experiential learning with best practices for attending to issues that may arise in the therapeutic relationship as well as explore clinician and clients' intersections of race, sexual orientation and gender identity in clinical practice. Participants will explore their current practices and develop a clinician action plan for future clinical work. 

APA Div. 44 Fundraising Dinner

This year's annual Div. 44 fundraising dinner will be held on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. at Carmine's Restaurant, 425 7th Street Northwest, Washington, D.C., 20004.

The evening begins with mixing and mingling, full bar service and non-alcoholic beverage options. Dinner will begin promptly at 7 p.m. Drink tickets will be sold online, in the suite and at the door ($9 ticket for wine and draft beer). Your dinner will come with one free drink ticket (soda/tea is included). Our traditional Italian meal will be served family style with two appetizer choices, two entree/pasta choices and dessert. There will vegetarian options as well.
