Division 47 Dissertation Award: Call for nominations
Division 47 of the American Psychological Association invites the submission of applications for the annual Dissertation Award. This award recognizes outstanding student research that has the greatest potential for making a significant contribution to the theoretical and applied knowledge base in exercise and sport psychology. The application consists of an abstract of no greater than 1,500 words with references (the references will not be counted against the 1,500 word limit) organized as follows:
Title of dissertation, name of student and student's advisor along with their contact information.
b) Review of Literature
e) Contribution to Science and Practice
Both the student applicant and dissertation advisor must be a member of Division 47 at the time of application.
Confirmation of the completion of the dissertation and the degree by December 31, 2011.
Applications should be sent electronically to Mark Aoyagi by February 15, 2011. The abstracts will be judged (blind review) by a panel of professionals in exercise and sport psychology who are members of Division 47. The awardee will be notified of their selection before March 30, 2011, so plans can be made to attend the annual convention to receive the award (which includes a plaque and a monetary gift), and to present their research.
