IN THIS ISSUE
APA International Poster
These will be shown at APA 2011 this coming August. Each division will present one poster about the international work of their division members. The posters will then all be in a special section in the exhibit hall.
Division 32 — “The Society for Humanistic Psychology” — has agreed to participate and would like to acknowledge all the great work that is being done internationally to share our psychological theory, knowledge and practices. Our intention is to gather all the activities of our members in the form of a catalog that will be available at the exhibit, and then to choose a few ‘stories’ to highlight on our poster.
We plan on having five story boxes with at least one of the stories being the profile of APA Division 32 members who are doing great work but may be living and working outside the U.S. In this case, please specify how being a member of a psychological organization based outside of your country of residence is beneficial and/or inspirational.
Here are a few things you can include in your email to us:
Work you are doing in another country.
Projects with colleagues from other countries, whether conducted in the U.S. or abroad.
Publications in foreign media outlets (books, journals, newsletters).
Publications about your cross-cultural or international work
Participation in journals/books/websites/social media about international work – articles, reviews, editorial board membership, topics.
International projects completed, in process or in planning.
Events or international conferences you have attended.
Speeches or workshops you have given that are internationally oriented; please specify location or name of conference, in APA reference style.
Of course, these activities should have an orientation that is consistent with the Division 32 mission and topic areas.
If you have participated in any one of these activities, please send the information to Richard Bargdill. We would like everyone to know of your work. Also, let any colleagues you know in our division who are doing this work (who may miss this email), who has made a made contribution to Humanistic Psychology on an international level. Deadline for submission is January 31st, 2011.
