Jacqueline L. Pettigrew
Jacqueline L. Pettigrew serves Division 35 as the student representative for the 2022–24 term. Jacqueline graduated from Houston Baptist University with a Master of Arts degree in psychology. She is presently pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy degree in community psychology at National Louis University. Her research interests include minority oppression, depression, perfectionism, and spirituality. In a broader scope, she is interested in understanding why self-love and self-care seem to be complicated tasks for some minority groups. Furthermore, she is interested in the association between poverty, systemic racism, and inadequate education with addiction, incarceration, and suicidal behaviors among minority groups.
Jacqueline enjoys writing and teaching poetry as well as propagating, planting, and cultivating the over 200 plants she owns. She also enjoys making vegan self-care products and mentoring middle and high school as well as undergraduate students
