Welcome to the Winter 2019-2020 newsletter. Two themes run through this volume: (a) social justice and (b) religion and spirituality in psychotherapy. We also have a re-print of an interview Tom Plante gave about his editorship of Spirituality in Clinical Practice.

We always welcome submissions from members at all stages of their careers. This can include reactions and responses to previously published pieces. If interested, please contact Stephanie Winkeljohn Black.

We also remind Div. 36 members that our annual mid-year conference is approaching. This year it will be hosted at the University of Colorado Denver, March 13-14. We anticipate students and professionals from a variety of disciplines will present empirical research and theoretical conceptualizations on the topic of health and spirituality. This will be a student friendly conference and a great opportunity for poster and paper presentations, as well as a chance to experience the many attractions Denver and the surrounding area has to offer.

This is a unique opportunity to learn more about the research and clinical utility of understanding the intersections of health and spirituality and hear incredible presentations from our invited speakers, Lynn Underwood, PhD, author of the Daily Spiritual Experiences Scale, and Laird Edman, PhD, an expert in the cognitive science of religion, critical thinking and emotional intelligence.
