Patrick H. DeLeon Prize for Outstanding Student Contribution to the Advancement of Pharmacotherapy
Div. 55 is pleased to offer the Patrick DeLeon Prize, in honor of former APA president Patrick H. DeLeon, PhD, JD, MPH. In acknowledgment of DeLeon's long-standing commitment to advancing the career of young psychologists, this award is aimed at graduate students or those who have recently completed a course of graduate training. The prize will be awarded on the basis of a paper on the subject of psychopharmacology or the advancement of the prescriptive authority movement.
The paper need not be published, but should substantially reflect work done while the candidate was a graduate student. If published, the student should be at least the second author.
The prize carries a cash award of $500, which will be awarded along with a plaque at the Div. 55 social hour at the APA Annual Convention. Nomination by major professors or advisers is ideal, but self-nominations are also encouraged.
