About Division 7

Division 7 provides a professional home for developmental psychologists. By supporting research and the academic and professional growth of students, early career psychologists and seasoned professionals, Division 7 advances the understanding of human development in both applied and public policy settings.

The exclusive purposes of APA Division 7 shall be:

to promote research in the field of Developmental Psychology;
to facilitate the exchange of scientific information concerning Developmental Psychology through publication and meetings; and
to promote high standards in the application of scientific knowledge to the practical problems of engaging in psychological services and research in this field.

G. Stanley Hall Award name change opens in new window

In light of current efforts to eradicate systemic racism and strive for social justice, in a unanimous Executive Committee decision, we have changed the name of the G. Stanley Hall award to the Award for Distinguished Contributions to Developmental Psychology.
