Other important information: A course "Introduction to Hypnosis" is taught.  It is a 45 hour, 15 week, full semester, college level course, offered to undergraduates.  Offered during the Spring semester only. Has a good record of transferability to other colleges.  Content includes: history and theories of hypnosis, tests for hypnosis and tests of hypnosis, applications of hypnosis throughout history and in today's world.  Video and films of hypnosis, including surgery involving a Caesarean Section Operation, are utilized. It is the oldest, continuous, undergraduate college course of this kind in the U.S., having been first offered in 1980.

Hetero-hypnosis is not taught, though self-hypnosis is.

Other important information: Graduate Seminar (1/2 biofeedback and 1/2 hypnosis training) generally meets ASCH Basic Training criteria. Clinical Hypnosis Practicum: Both courses are required in our Master of Arts programs in Clinical Health Psychology and in Pre-Doctoral Health Psychology. Graduate students complete program with a strong foundation and applied training in Clinical Hypnosis.

Other important information: This is a 3 credit, 15 week course taught at a regionally accredited college and involves reading of texts, testing of materials, journaling, and learning the basics of hypnosis, relaxation response, brainwave theory, altered states, etc. Can be taken as an audit. Also examines the spiritual interpretations of trance states.
