The next call for nominations for the 2027 awardees for these eight awards will occur Fall 2026, with selection occurring Spring 2027 and awardees being recognized at the August 2027 APA Convention. The nominee must have participated in their dissertation defense during the calendar year of the award nomination, or the prior calendar year. For 2026 nominations only, the eligibility is being extended for one extra year due to changes in the awards schedule. For 2026 nominations for 2027 awards, nominees can have participated in their dissertation defense during 2026, 2025, or 2024. This eligibility criteria are being added to two early career awards (the Boyd McCandless Award and the Dissertation Award in Developmental Psychology).
