The Early Career Task Force (ECTF) would like to thank the membership for its enthusiastic response to the Special Interest Groups (SIGs) initiative. In total, 92 members indicated interest in participating as a member and/or volunteered for a leadership position in their survey responses. Over the next several weeks, the ECTF will be working to form groups, combine smaller or similar groups and build leadership teams. More specifically, here are some key dates to keep in mind as we move forward with this initiative:
- April 8. Between March 11 and April 8, the ECTF will be reviewing all survey responses to form groups, combine groups and build leadership teams. Then, the ECTF will be contacting everyone who volunteered for leadership positions on or before Monday, April 8 to confirm their commitment to holding particular leadership positions. Please note that our goal is to get as many people involved in leadership positions as possible, especially early career members, so if you signed up for multiple leadership positions, you will likely be selected to hold only one or two, depending on need and interest.
- Mid-May. The ECTF will contact all SIG participants to notify them of their placement in SIGs as well as to provide them with information about SIG leadership teams. In that same month, SIG participants can expect to receive a welcome email from the leadership team of the SIG or SIGs they have joined.
If you did not complete the SIGs survey but would like to participate in or learn more about this initiative, please contact Nicole DePasquale as soon as possible.
We truly appreciate your generous support of this new initiative, and we look forward to working with you all in the coming months.
