The Early Career Task Force (ECTF) launched its final 2019 recruitment effort for the Special Interest Groups initiative starting in the first week of September.
Past recruitment efforts occurred in February and in June, leading to the formation of 20 different Special Interest Groups (SIGs) with 143 total participants. All groups have at least one leader, and 12 groups are currently looking for volunteers to serve in additional leadership positions (e.g., co-chair, assistant chair, secretary).
The overall goal of the SIGs initiative is to form smaller communities in Div. 20 that reflect members’ specific areas of study within the broader field of adult development and aging as well as connect members who share common interests. SIGs can serve as a resource for early career psychologists to become more involved in Div. 20; collaborate with other members on publications, research grants, etc.; network with other members; communicate with other members at and in between annual conventions; hear the latest news on topics of interest; share their own research; and acquire leadership experience.

We truly appreciate your generous support of this new initiative, and we look forward to working with you all in the coming months.
