Currently, there are 18 active Special Interest Groups (SIGs), which include more than 200 Div. 20 members serving in a membership or leadership role. We just launched our second recruitment effort of the year and encourage any members interested in joining one or more SIGs to complete a brief survey.
The Early Career Task Force (ECTF) held its first joint conference call with SIG leaders in May, focusing on ways to facilitate engagement among SIG leaders and members. SIG leaders highlighted the following strategies: utilizing different social media platforms, developing webinars for SIG members, sending out quarterly newsletters, creating a research journal club. We plan to hold our next quarterly conference call via Zoom on September 9th at 7 pm CST.
We are also excited about our ongoing initiative to get SIGs represented on the D20 website by December 2021. The website will feature information submitted by SIG leaders, including each SIG’s current leadership team/contact information, mission and goals, and upcoming programming and events. Additionally, SIGs will be included on the welcome email to new Div. 20 members.
