We have the pleasure of announcing that Sherry Beaudreau, PhD, was recognized earlier this year with fellow status in Division 20. Fellowship is the highest honor bestowed within Division 20 and is an acknowledgement of distinguished and scholarly contributions to the field of adult development and aging. Beaudreau’s record is clearly consistent with fellowship criteria. She has made novel and influential contributions to the study of mental health and aging. She has published numerous manuscripts in top-tier journals. Of particular note is a highly cited review of late-life anxiety which synthesized critical mediator and moderators that influence the relationship between late-life anxiety and cognitive impairment and identified important directions of future research. The output of Beaudreau’s work has had direct impact on clinical practice. She has and continues to develop tools that are useful in a range of clinical settings, and effective and accessible methods to address widespread and debilitating distress.
In addition to scholarly contributions, over the years, Beaudreau has made significant contributions to psychological organizations, including APA, for example as president-elect, president, and past president of the APA Society of Clinical Geropsychology. In these roles, she has had lasting impact, especially with respect to efforts to raise awareness around issues of diversity and disparity. She is also a skilled clinician, mentor, and educator. Beaudreau’s achievements are numerous and span the areas of research, education, and service.
We congratulate Beaudreau on this very well-deserved accomplishment.
