Hello, Division 20 members! My name is Jamie Kiefer (she/they), and I am a new student representative for Division 20. I am passionate about supporting older adults and appreciate being part of a division with similar values. I am in my third year in Palo Alto University’s clinical psychology PhD Program, pursuing an area of emphasis in neuropsychology.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and have previous experience as a research assistant at a VA hospital, and a psychometrist at a memory and movement disorders clinic. These opportunities fostered my passion for working with older adults. Currently, my research in the Aging, Neuropsychology, and Depression (AND) Research Lab relates to cognition and personality variables in diverse older adult samples. Clinically, I am training at Kaiser Permanente Neuropsychology and am working toward being a culturally responsive clinical neuropsychologist in a medical setting, preferably with adult and older adult patients. I also love mentoring and hope to facilitate entry for other students into geropsychology in the future. In my rare moments of free time, you can find me going on hikes with my dog, restoring old furniture, or having board game nights with my friends.
I am looking forward to representing students for Division 20 and advocating for adult development and aging initiatives. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to connect, have any questions, or if there are any topics you would like to bring to the executive committee. I look forward to working and connecting with you all!
