The Society for Qualitative Inquiry in Psychology (SQIP) will hold its annual conference virtually over three days, June 16, 17, and 18, 2022. The theme of this year’s conference is The Internationalization of Qualitative Psychology, and in the spirit of this theme, we endeavor to engage both new and seasoned participants from a diverse range of countries and backgrounds. Therefore, to encourage robust and diverse participation, we are planning to hold each day from 9:00-20:00 specific to particular time-zones: Starting day 1 at 9 a.m. with a local center in Japan/Korea-Time; Starting day 2 at 9 a.m, with Central Europe + Central/Western Africa as its local center; and starting day 3 at 9 a.m. local time in Mexico + Central-US/Chicago-Time.
We particularly encourage attendees who provide perspectives about conducting qualitative inquiry in the Global South. In support of these aims, registration fees for the conference will take into consideration participants’ access to resources. We consider submissions for the following four presentation formats: (i) Roundtable Discussions (80 min); (ii) Symposia (80 min); (iii) Individual Papers (15 min); and (iv) Videos (5 min). In particular, we invite graduate students and emerging scholars from areas where qualitative inquiry may be developing in close connection to historical traditions, with an eye toward reconfiguring and reshaping Euro-centric hegemony in the psychological sciences.
Conference details and registration information will be posted as they become available
