I am honored to run for president-elect of Div. 31. Having served in multiple roles within the Missouri Psychological Association, I have come to appreciate the vital role our SPTAs play in the advocacy and public education of the field of psychology and the value psychologists add to the scientific and healthcare community. Should I be elected, I will be a voice of all SPTAs to APA leadership and advocate for APA’s greater awareness of the essential role SPTAs play in the local dissemination of psychological science and practice standards.
Within my own SPTA, I have served as a committee chair, as president, as FAC and legislative chair, and as representative to APA Council. Within Div. 31, I currently serve as chair of the Integrated Care Task Force, which led to my service on an APA Task Force related to the revised HBAI CPT Codes and on APA’s current Integrated Primary Care Advisory Group.
I am team lead of the Behavioral Medicine and Neuropsychology Services at the Truman VA in Columbia, MO, with responsibilities in the Primary Care-Mental Health Integration program. Within my employment, I act as co-chair of the Primary Care-Patient Aligned Care Team Committee, am a member of the R&D Committee, and member of the APA-accredited internship training committee. I also serve as a consultant to the VA’s national Motivational Interviewing training program. I am a 2011 graduate of Palo Alto University and maintain clinical and research interests in health psychology, integrated care, substance abuse, and behavioral addictions.
