Another year (of COVID), another successful (virtual) APA conference! The Committee on Early Career Psychologists (CECP) offered five successful sessions as well as seven poster sessions. All were well attended and received positive feedback. While we hope to see everyone in person next year, we were excited to be able to virtually promote interesting and relevant material created by talented early career psychologists across the nation.
Aside from working to ensure ECP presence at this year’s APA, the Committee on Early Career Psychologists is focused on furthering our priorities and APA’s strategic plan by promoting and recognizing the achievements of ECPs. This month, we awarded three distinguished ECPs for their significant contributions to and impact on psychology: Tiffany Brannon, PhD; Jason A. Cantone, JD, PhD; and Alfonso Mercado, PhD. In addition, CECP in conjunction with the National Register awarded 20 early career psychologists with grant funding to attend APA 2021. This grant funding allowed awardees to attend, participate in, and even present their work at our national conference. For more information, please visit the convention websiteopens in new window.
For more information about CECP and our priorities, please join us on September 10 at 3:00 p.m. ET. During this CECP forum, you will get a peek at the projects and happenings within the CECP as well as learn more about integrating ECPs into leadership within SPTAs as well as APA. We hope to see you there!
