In this issue, we highlight upcoming couple and family psychology (CFP) events at the 126th Annual APA Convention, Aug. 9-12, in San Francisco, Calif. In this issue, executive officer addresses focus on convention highlights and other current issues pertaining to practice, training and research. Vice President for Practice Allison Hill, PhD, previews several upcoming clinically-focused convention presentations. Vice President for Education Shelley Riggs, PhD, invited Danielle Black, PhD, and Anthony Chambers, PhD, to discuss challenges in CFP postdoctoral training. Vice President for Science Steven Sayers, PhD, emphasizes CFP research highlights from the upcoming convention. Div. 43 Student Representative Samuel Rennebohm invites fellow students to make the most of convention attendance.
Also in this issue, Terry Patterson, EdD, discusses in his "Real World Issues in Couple Therapy" column the importance of the couple consultation, and Aaron Cohen, PhD, reviews the book, Why Gender Matters. As always, we hope that TFP will continue to be a resource for the members of Div. 43 as well as a forum for discussion. With this goal in mind, the editorial staff encourages you to submit articles, book reviews and announcements for the spring issue of TFP by Feb. 15. As always, we encourage submissions and collaborations from early career psychologists (ECPs) and students of couple and family psychology along with our more seasoned colleagues. Lastly, in the midst of the current political climate, TFP continues to welcome submissions about efforts to prevent and heal the pain of racism, sexism, homophobia and xenophobia.
