As the dust settles, we pause to reflect on the highlights of APA 2025. We received hundreds of engaging, thoughtful, and innovative session proposals, culminating in three days of outstanding programming. Division 44 proudly sponsored eleven symposia, three skill building workshops, three critical conversations, and three poster sessions.
We were especially honored to have a presentation featured on the convention’s feature stage. In a packed room, “The Kink and Flourishing Study: Impact of Kink Involvement in People’s Personal Growth and Healing” was presented by Anna Randall, Jessica Helmer, Stephen Ratcliff, and Shveta Mittal.
In addition to formal programming, we hosted a variety of informal gatherings. We welcomed Dr. Nathan Lents, author of The Sexual Evolution: How 500 Million Years of Sex, Gender, and Mating Shape Modern Relationships, for an engaging discussion. Co-sponsored by APA, our “Continuing the Conversation” space offered members an opportunity to connect, reflect, and share insights gained over our 40 year history as an APA Division.
We also convened several committee meetings and celebrated the official reinstatement of the Committee for Children, Youth, and Families. Finally, we were thrilled to welcome new Executive Board members, including our incoming President, Nic Rider.
Overall, APA 2025 was a resounding success, bringing together students, academics, practitioners, and community members from across the globe. We look forward to all that lies ahead at APA 2026
