A dance therapist works via Zoom with a group of women living with breast cancer. They each record themselves at home facing their dark sides and difficult feelings, becoming stronger in life, moving to the theme of “We have an answer to cancer: I love myself.” Using the voice of the singer Karsu, Elcin Bicer choreographs the separate women’s movement into a mesmerizing movement piece, available on YouTube.
Leave Me as I Am
Do not stare at me anymore
Do not come to my bed
Be far away
Be history
Give up on me
Leave my heart free
Don't look
Don't see
Leave me as I am
Don’t steal the colour of my lipstick
Let it stay on my lips
Let it be my opposite chair empty
Let our song to play just for myself
Don't worry
I will not fall down
Do not look
Do not see
Let me be as I am
