Movement of Freedom (MoF) serves and connects young people (aged 11-14) from disadvantaged communities within the UK and around the world. It runs (real-life) courses which explore predominantly movement but also film, sound and virtual communication. As well as connecting through movement with others within their immediate groups, the participants are then connected virtually through movement with other participating groups. As part of the process, we also create films and video art pieces with professional film crews. These help give the participants a sense of completion and demonstrate to a wider audience, the potential of movement as a means of connection and healing in these increasingly virtual and isolated times.
