Updates on early career psychology activity

By Paula Fite, PhD

Hello Div. 37 early career psychologists,

It is hard to believe that fall is here and that the academic year is in full swing. Summer went by way too fast. With that being said, I believe that it was a productive summer. First, I would like to draw your attention to the page for ECPs on the division website. We hope that you will find this information useful. If you have any suggestions for additional information to include please let me know. Thank you to the ECP Committee for their help in getting this information together.

We had a successful ECP “happy” social hour at the convention. It was a wonderful opportunity for division members to discuss professional as well as personal issues that those early in their career experience. It was also great to partner with the Section on Child Maltreatment for the event to raise a little money for Best Kids, an organization that provides mentoring for youth in the D.C. area. We hope to have a similar event at next year's convention.

We have a new member of the ECP Committee, Aaron Sawyer with Engility Corporation. Welcome Aaron.

Finally, we are always looking to recruit new ECP division members. There are several opportunities to get involved with various initiatives and leadership positions related to child and family policy and practice. We would appreciate you letting colleagues that may be interested in our mission know about the division and encourage them to become a member.

Please contact me with any questions and ideas that you may have.
