Advances in Child and Family Policy & Practice update
By Barbara H. Fiese
Advances in Child and Family Policy & Practice issue on corporal punishment was highlighted in PsycCritiques review. The Advances issue on corporal punishment in U. S. schools was reviewed by Alan Kazdin in the Aug. 24 issue of PsycCritiques. This very positive review highlights how the volume not only reviews the literature but also where “science, public life, culture, tradition, religion, law, morality, and international policy converge and often conflict” (Kazdin, 2015). This thoughtful review illustrates how the series Advances inChild and Family Policy and Practice has the potential to influence research, policy and practice well outside the confines of Div. 37 membership. Kazdin, A. E. (2015). We have hit bottom by using corporal punishment in the schools. PsycCritiques (Vol. 60, No. 34, Article 2).
